I was in Grade 6 back in '71 when Canada decided to start changing from imperial to metric, so we learned to do both hard (exact) and soft (approximate) conversions right in the classroom. And since that was back in the days when even a basic calculator cost about the same as a weeks groceries, we learned to do it all by rote.
It's just that even after 35 years of celsius, 107 F seems to convey the sense of blistering heat to me better than 42 C.

2009-08-17 [Ramirez]: Well, first off, find yourself a nice empty wiki to claim as your own. Just by visiting other competitions and seeing how they're set up you can get ideas on how to make your wiki aesthetically pleasing. There's also Elftown Graphics which has all sorts of little banners and such that you can use to decorate your wiki. After you get your contest ready for competitors or for roleplaying, you can advertise it in your "status" on your House so anyone who's your friend or visits your page can get a link to it (You can put a link in your house too by editing your house and putting [ the wiki's name @ wiki ] without the spaces...hopefully that worked right). Also you can most certainly advertise here. There's also help that will give you tips on how to make your life in Elftown easier.

I normally set them up to have a main page with a sketch of the plot perhaps, and the idea of the roleplay, and then invite people or advertise them to join. They then create a character write up, and have a little section off from the main wiki to post it.... and then set perhaps a turn list of who posts when and the likes....
